In 2023, a large beverage can manufacturer operating in North Africa faced significant issues with airborne aluminum particles and desert sand penetrating their production lines. Standard louver vents allowed dust accumulation on filling equipment, causing line shutdowns and contamination risk. The engineering department implemented our sealed metal sunshade and ventilation panel system with integrated dust shielding. This solution was designed in reference to ASTM E1557 building envelope performance and ISO 29463 particulate filtration recommendations.

Deployment Context

The 12,000 m² facility featured modular roofing and side wall ventilation zones. Temperatures regularly exceeded 44°C and humidity dropped below 15%. We replaced all open mesh panels with modular ventilated skins featuring dust-rejection membranes and side-baffled vents, modeled per studies from MDPI air quality simulations and ScienceDirect filtration data.

Panel Features & Integration

All modules were 1200×2400 mm with 2.2mm AA5083 marine-grade aluminum and a self-healing anodized finish. A hydrophobic nanocoating resisted both liquid and fine particulate adherence. Mechanical resistance and thermal expansion behavior aligned with ASCE standards. The main production floor used Anti-Slip Perforated Panels at access points and Acoustic Perforated Panels near compressors, while offices were finished with Decorative Perforated Panels.

System Performance

Within 3 weeks of installation, particle count measurements fell by 71%. Airflow balance remained stable even during sirocco winds. Thermal imaging showed up to 5°C surface temperature reductions.
