In the metal processing industry, there is a clear professional definition: when the hole size is equal to or smaller than the plate thickness, it belongs to the industry-definedhard punching extreme tiny hole, which is recognized as one of the most difficult processing technologies in the perforation industry. For 1.5mm thick 202 steel, punching 1.6mm square holes is an ultra-high difficulty processing project. The customized square punch needle is extremely thin and has poor pressure resistance. Under the high hardness and high toughness of 202 steel, the punch needle is easy to break, bend and deform during stamping.
The internal structural tension of 202 stainless steel is large. After strong stamping, the hole walls are uneven, the holes are prone to collapse and deformation, and the edge burrs are serious and difficult to polish. Even with imported high-speed steel precision molds, the punch needle may crack dozens of times within one working day. The raw material waste rate and defective product rate exceed 40%. The production cost is high and the yield is low. Therefore, almost all conventional perforation factories explicitly refuse such extreme difficult orders. Our factory breaks through industrial technical barriers. We customize reinforced integrated precision molds and optimize stamping frequency, pressure control and heat dissipation circulation system to solve the processing difficulties of extreme tiny holes on 202 stainless steel. By accurately controlling the stamping rhythm, improving high-strength mold materials and adding sheet flattening and pretreatment procedures, we effectively reduce needle breakage, minimize waste, and keep the scrap rate at an extremely low industrial level. The whole stamping process is implemented in strict accordance withISO 1461 metal anti-corrosion and metal processing specification standards.
202 stainless steel is not a mainstream steel grade in the global metal market. Major domestic and foreign steel mills rarely arrange rolling production for 1.5mm customized intermediate thickness. Most conventional stock specifications are thin sheets below 1.0mm or thick industrial plates above 2.0mm. The 1.5mm intermediate thickness belongs to non-standard special size, with extremely low market inventory and scarce spot resources. From the perspective of steel mill production scheduling, 202 steel has low global market demand, complicated smelting process and high comprehensive production cost. The overall sales volume is far lower than 201 and 304 stainless steel, so steel mills are unwilling to consume production capacity to arrange temporary rolling production.
Most small steel traders and metal distributors basically have no stable spot supply. Once customers need customized 1.5mm thick 202 stainless steel, they often face the dilemma of no raw materials available and long customized production cycle. Raw material selection of our factory strictly abides by ASTM A123 international steel material control standards to ensure stable metal density, uniform thickness and qualified surface quality of purchased steel sheets.
For customers who need tiny hole perforation and high-precision customized plates, we sincerely recommend replacing 202 stainless steel with mature and stable 201 or 304 stainless steel. These two mainstream materials have better metal toughness, lower cold hardening degree, moderate hardness and lower mold loss during punching processing. The hole shape is neat, the hole distance is uniform, and the yield is extremely high. For export to South Korea, 304 stainless steel can perfectly pass RoHS 2.0 and other international authoritative testing standards, which fully meets the strict acceptance standards of Korean construction, machinery and ventilation enterprises. If customers insist on using low-cost manganese steel materials to control procurement budget, we suggest adjusting the hole diameter to more than 2.5mm to ensure smooth punching, flat sheet surface and no cracking deformation.
In addition to long-term stable export to South Korea, our factory also deeply cultivates the Eastern European market and steadily supplies qualified perforated sheets to Bulgaria. Local Bulgarian purchasers prefer high-difficulty, non-standard, small-batch customized perforated metal products. Most local European processing factories have high production costs and cannot process complex personalized punching structures. Our mature processing technology perfectly meets the customization requirements of various industrial components, ventilation filter plates, mechanical protection shells and decorative perforated plates in Bulgaria. All exported products comply with local BDS certification standards to ensure market compliance.
We have always adhered to the business philosophy of undertaking difficult orders that peers dare not take. In addition to stainless steel processing, we also have rich technical experience in high-standard galvanized sheet customization. We recently completed a highly difficult non-standard customized project for a Vietnamese client. The customer required zero-spangle hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with high zinc coating of 127g/m², with 1.5mm plate thickness. The product requires 5mm punching holes with 2mm ultra-narrow center spacing. In addition, the galvanized sheet needs secondary deep processing, including reserved door lock holes and precise window cutting grooves. Due to ultra-dense hole spacing, asymmetrical cutting structure and strict jumping distance tolerance, most Asian manufacturing factories refused this order because of high processing risk and uncontrollable scrap rate.
Our factory firmly took over this high-risk customized project. We purchased high-grade zero-spangle galvanized raw materials in advance and adopted high-precision laser cutting technology for window shaping and lock hole carving. In the early trial production stage, affected by the poor ductility of high-zinc galvanized sheet and complex lock hole jumping spacing, we suffered unavoidable raw material loss. In accordance with international CIF trade terms, all freight and insurance fees are reasonably apportioned into two finished product values without separate listing. The original cost details include raw material scrap loss, labor overtime calibration fee and laser deep processing fee. The additional ocean freight and cargo insurance are fully integrated into the product value. We independently bear all extra comprehensive costs without charging any hidden fees to customers.
Our skilled workers worked overtime continuously for 5 days to repeatedly adjust punching sequences, optimize lock hole jumping distance, calibrate every single hole position and cutting size. After multiple debugging and pressure tests, we finally delivered flawless high-quality galvanized products. The finished products have uniform hole spacing, accurate lock hole position, no jumping errors, smooth cutting edges and beautiful overall appearance. This real case fully proves our stable technical capability, rigorous production attitude and responsible service awareness for high-risk customized perforated sheets. Whether it is special stainless steel or high-standard galvanized sheet, we can break through technical limitations and provide one-stop customized export solutions for global customers.
